UWB/CC Campus Library Community Reads, Fall 2019
Freedom is a Constant Struggle: Ferguson, Palestine, and the Foundations of a Movement, by Angela Y. Davis
Community Reads is proud to announce its year-long read (Fall 2019 through Spring 2020) - Angela Davis' collection of interviews and speeches, Freedom is a Constant Struggle.
Fall 2019: Read Chapters 1 & 5, plus two additional related readings found on the Community Reads webpage.
Tuesday, November 5, 2019 3:30 - 5:00pm, Library Room LB1 - 205
Wednesday, November 13, 2019 12:30 - 2:00pm, Library Room LB1 - 205
UWB and CC students, faculty, and staff are invited to join us as we engage in the material and then come together during our quarterly events to discuss and explore issues raised by Davis. Each quarter we’ll focus on different chapters and offer related materials from a variety of disciplines and artistic forms of expression (poetry, art, fiction, film, etc.) based on themes. This will allow our campus to engage more deeply with the issues that Davis discusses in the book.
Community Reads is devoted to offering campus wide readings focused on social justice, diversity, and equity. We aim to provide a space for collective reflection and inspire dialogue about important issues facing our diverse communities across our shared campus at UW Bothell and Cascadia College.
